Dessert Table Signs

Comments Off

Since candy bars and dessert stations became really popular a few years ago, we’ve seen a bunch of variations on the theme.  My favorite details at any wedding are the DIY personalized touches that give a sense of character to the party.  At two recent weddings, we set up these fantastic dessert tables and I couldn’t resist sharing the signs that the couples provided.

A favor favorite!

Purchasing holiday gifts for family and friends at this festive time of year, makes me think of wedding favors– the gift couples give to their invited guests.

Top trend favors have run the gamet this year from home spun honey or jam jars, to glassine bags on a lavish candy display- but one thing remains true: the edible favor reigns supreme!  caramel apples.  whoopie pies.  macaroons.  peronalized m & m’s.  kettle corn.   cookies.  doughnuts.  smores.  Somebody stop me!   Oh one more option– Bonbons.  And how about if they sport some bling?

Trend Alert: Macarons

Comments Off

Move over cupcakes, there’s a new trendy dessert in town! Macarons! These darling little pastries are said to have originated in Italy but are mainly know as a Parisian treat. Macarons are crisp on the outside while smooth and soft in the middle. These little guys are the new hot item to serve at your next event. You can customize your macaroons in a variety of colors and flavors to coordinate with your wedding or party look.

Just think of all the creative things you can do to display your macarons. Try stacking these little ones high in a tower, place in cute to-go boxes as favors or set on vintage platters for your guests to nibble on throughout the event.

Years ago, I provided entertainment for a wonderful couple, Joy and Dan. Their wedding was an absolute blast from start to finish! Joy and Dan adapted a very clever idea to add an element of uniqueness to their wedding… temporary tattoos! They had tattoos printed with their names and their wedding date and gave them to their guests.
