About Me:
Though Kristen grew up in a military family, her roots are now firmly planted in the southeast and she's a true "southerner" at heart. She attended North Carolina State University and graduated with a degree in Biology. What does Biology have to do with invitations? Hmmm - we'll let you decide! After working in the Biotech industry for a couple of years, Kristen honed her graphic design skills and founded The Green Kangaroo ("TGK") in 2002, shortly after her own wedding. Kristen lives in Cary, North Carolina with her husband and daughter. She recently said farewell to her business partner of 6 years, Melissa, who helped make TGK what it is today!
About My Business
The Green Kangaroo (TGK for short) is a very unique Invitation Studio inspired by the individuality of our brides! We love to create stationery that is as unique as the celebration it represents. All of our pieces are professionally designed and printed so that they endure the test of time. Best of all - they are available online!
My Proudest Accomplishment
Aside from editorial coverage in several national bridal magazines (which never fails to put that cheesy proud grin on our faces), we would have to say that TGK proudly employs a wonderful team of people. The growth and accomplishments we've achieved with this group gives us a deep sense of fulfillment.
My Favorite Pasttime
I LOVE good food and wine! I also enjoy practicing yoga and spending time outdoors. There's a certain peace and fulfillment I get from working in my garden - when it's not approaching 100 degrees, that is!
Why I Love My Profession
The love letters (i.e. positive feedback) we get from our customers are the best! They motivate us to continue creating our original designs that we know will be lasting keepsakes.
