About Me:
Before turning to full time wedding planning in Hawaii, Rachael spent 6 years planning large group events and working with top restaurants and resorts while she completed her MA and BA degree in International Business. From this combination of education and hands-on experience, Rachael gained detailed insights into the art of developing successful events while also being very financial and business savvy. These skills combined with a wealth of knowledge on the wedding industry help her come up with great money saving tips and DIY ideas. While these credentials helped her understand the business side of event planning, Rachael credits her design inspiration to a childhood filled with art. "My mom is a talented artist and growing up looking over her shoulder and playing with paint, fabric, jewels, furniture and whatever else we could get our hands on inspired me to view life as one big expression of art and love, something that naturally translated to wedding planning where the creativity can run high and the goal is to express and celebrate love." says Rachael. This personal view of life as art has also inspired Rachael to travel the world. Visiting more then twenty-seven countries worldwide, Rachael has a variety of rich cultural experiences that she use as inspiration for her events. In addition to wedding planning, Rachael also currently assists Toby Hoogs Photography with their marketing and, because of this connection, is constantly exposed to inspirational photos of real weddings and the latest trends and fashions.
About My Business
Vintage&Lace is a wedding planning, coordinating, and designing partnership created by Rachael and Heather - lovers of vintage-modern fashions, wedding enthusiasts, and best friends. We are currently based in Kailua-Kona on the Big Island of Hawaii and specialize in Hawaii Destination Weddings. We provide a variety of top quality wedding services that go beyond the norm to create truly exceptional wedding celebrations. From carefree Inclusive Packages to Full Service Wedding Designing to Wedding Day Coordination, we can customize our offerings specifically to your needs. We believe every wedding should have a timeless quality that remains beautiful for generations to come - vintage. It should also reflect the delicate bond that is created between two people when they choose to wed - lace. Congratulations and Happy Planning!
My Proudest Accomplishment
At the risk of sounding cliché, starting Vintage&Lace with my best friend is my proudest accomplishment. The joy I receive from knowing that we had a dream and made it happen is indescribable and so empowering. The joy of achieving this goal is made all the more rewarding knowing that we did it together and have played such an important role in each other’s personal and professional lives.
My Favorite Pasttime
Living and working in one of the most beautiful places in the world, I try to spend every free moment I have outdoors. I love to go stand up paddle boarding, snorkeling or hiking with my husband, friends, and Australian Shepherd puppy, discovering new wonders and hidden gems on our island all the time.
Why I Love My Profession
A wedding is one of life's most anticipated milestones. We strive to help our clients create an event that reflects their own unique perspective. Our goal, the reason we plan, que, fluff, and prep is to create one-of-a-kind moments and lasting memories that a couple will build their marriage upon. We want to make your wedding day as perfect and special as possible so when life brings its natural challenges, our clients can reflect on their wedding day and think to themselves what a wonderful day it was.
