About Me:

I grew up in the diamond jewelry business and I speak color and clarity more native than English. In the home of a family business, diamonds have been the talk of the dinner table for years. In addition to family training, I've been formally trained by the Gemological Institute of America in Diamonds and Diamond Grading. I'm currently working toward my MBA from the University of Maryland. I did my undergrad work at University of Pennsylvania in Cognitive Science, which basically means the science of thought. It's a mix between neuroscience, psychology, and philosophy. At Mervis, I'm working on building our new website and enhancing our online presence overall. I'd really like to extend the same warmth and guidance that we offer in the store--online. If you have any questions about a diamond or jewelry, I'd love to help you.

About My Business

My grandfather started our family business in the 30's in South Africa, with his two brothers. When my parents moved to the US in the 80's, we began importing our stones from South Africa and sold wholesale to jewelers all around the country. My father became somewhat famous as "that South African diamond importer," and soon enough, we decided to start selling directly to the public. Now, we have 4 stores across DC, Maryland, and Virginia. We are the largest and most prominent jeweler in the area and cater to all the big politicos and celebrities in DC.

Voted "Best Place to Buy a Diamond" by WashingtonPost.com. Voted "Best Wedding Rings" by W*USA 9.

I love to see a couple's reaction when a girl tries on a ring for the first time and sees that amazing sparkle on her finger.
