We’re having a small wedding & reception at a ski chalet in Western NY in 3 weeks. 16 guests (including Bride & Groom), then a wedding planner and her assistant, the personal chef we hired, the photographer and officiant, so it’ll be about 22 people total.
My fiancé and I don’t throw dinner parties and we’re unsure of how many bottles of champagne and wine to get for that number of people. The personal chef we hired doesn’t do the bar setup or arrangements, just the food. The wedding is at 2:00 and we’re expecting the reception to end around 6:00ish. I did a “drink survey” with our guests, so I have the soda, iced tea and beer taken are of, but the # of bottles of champagne, red wine, and white wine are stumping me. Any thoughts? Thank you!
Abbie Asks: What happens when your in-laws send out more invitations than the venue can fit?

My friend had sent out her Save-the-Dates with her Christmas cards. Since then, her mother-in-law-to-be has invited more people and they have said they are coming. Additionally, budget issues came up and they had to switch to a smaller venue – which won’t seat all of the people her MIL is inviting. Is there any way to avoid this chaos? Can the bride send people a note that says, “I’m sorry we’ve had to switch to a smaller venue” and un-invite people? Any suggestions would be great. Thanks!
I want to have a Mad Men themed outfit for my wedding and loved the board you created back in September. Are there any particular vendors you could recommend?
Lynda Asks: How do I create two large branch arrangements with paper lanterns?

My daughter is having an outside ceremony and we are using paper parasols on the last row of chairs, shepherd lanterns with lanterns and flower. I want to create two large branch arrangements with paper lanterns for the two ceremony pedestals. Would the Manzanita branches be the best for this? or is there some other branch I could use?
My Goddaughter is getting married this July. She has a beachy theme. We are giving her a house shower in June. I am trying to come up with flowers centerpiece ideas that don’t break the bank and I can do myself. She is using shells and hydrangea (blue & white)& other white accents and raffia bows for the wedding pieces. Any ideas on centerpieces for the shower that will stick with her theme?
