I’m getting married in May, the day will be either the 28 or the 29th. What colors go best for that month? My favorite colors are a deep plum, fuchsia, and a bright blue like electric blue but I’m not sure if they will fit with the time of year. Any suggestions?

I’m getting married in late May too and I love deep colors just like you – I decided on a deep brown as the accent color with an ice blue and pale green – it’s spring/nature enough for the season while satisfying my need for a darker color too!

Consider finding a flower or fruit and selecting the colors from that. Deep plum, green, gold and white would be very classy and fresh. Perfect for kicking off summer!

Those colors are fabulous! These days, it isn’t so much about seasons matching colors, but whatever it is you truly want. Chances are, your guests will be so floored by your fabulous decor that they won’t be paying attention to the actual colors themselves. It’s all about doing what you have your heart set on. And for the record, we love electric blue!

We find most brides choose the colors they love no mater the season. You have a ton of choices with the deep plum and magenta tones. Remember blues can be somewhat limiting when it comes to the flowers. The weekend you marry will be peak peony season so think about including those into your flowers designs.

I would agree with Holly and Tara, as long as is your favorite color! Season may have to do with kind of the flowers you choose but definitly do the colors that you enjoy the most.

Doing what you love is paramount. With that said, if you do want to incorporate the season into your wedding day you can add a soft pink or pale yellow accent to your favorite plum and fuchsia – or use spring flowers in your colors – tulips come in every color imaginable! Let your imagination soar, I am sure what you find will be amazing. Best wishes, Jacki Norrie
