In the third and final post of this 2010 Forecasting Series, we’ll show you what to expect in the fashion department this upcoming year!
1. Turquoise – Expect this blue-green shade to pop up everywhere in 2010 – color company Pantone even named Turquoise the 2010 Color of the Year and named it as the top shade for spring in their Fashion Color Report.
2. Veils – I’m so excited about this trend coming back, even though I do love hair pieces, I’m all about the tradition of brides wearing veils down the aisle on their big day. I’m hoping that the veil-wearing trend transfers into a blusher-wearing trend as well!!
3. Brides in Color – In 2010, many brides will throw the “bride in white” rule out the window and put their bridesmaids in white while they wear whatever color their heart desires. A twist on tradition that I think is so fun and unique!
4. Mismatching Bridesmaid Dresses – A “choose your own adventure” of sorts, mismatching bridesmaid dresses began showing up in 2009 and is bound to continue into this year. This year brides will take it a step further than just letting each girl choose her own style and will start letting the ladies choose their own shades, too!
5. Layering/Draping – Be on the look out for bridal gowns to be large and in charge this year – the more fabric the better will be the choice to go with. Layers of fabric and silky draping have been showing up on the runway and will certainly transfer to the aisle in 2010.
