There cannot be a more perfect way to ring in the New Year than with a New Years Wedding! You will want to try and plan your ceremony for later in the day on New Year’s Eve with your reception party starting around 8 so that your guests can all stay through till the clock strikes midnight! Having a New Year’s Eve wedding can be difficult since it is a holiday, but at the same time it can also be a really great idea! Considering that most people are off of work and have already been traveling for the Christmas holiday. You will want to make sure that you book dj’s, catering, reception venues, photographers, and limos well enough in advance in order to avoid the normal New Year’s crowd.
When you chose the colors for your wedding, try sticking with traditional New Year’s Eve colors like blacks, golds and silvers. For flowers, red roses will really pop with the New Year’s color schemes.
As for attire, it might be fun to make your wedding a black tie affair and of course you, the beautiful bride, will be the center of everyone’s attention in your long, flowing, white gown. You might even want to wear a sparkling/rhinestone tiara to add to the elegance of your gown. For the bridesmaids try having the girls wear long black gowns and the groomsmen in black tuxedos.
Make sure to send out your “save the dates” and invitations an extra month or so ahead of time in order to give your guests plenty of time since it is a holiday. This way, family that may have already been planning on visiting for Christmas can extend their stay until the New Year to celebrate your wedding.
Decorate your reception with party hats, noise makers, confetti, balloons, glittery snowflakes, and candles on the tables. Since it is New Year’s Eve, get a large clock to have hanging somewhere in your reception hall so that everyone can join together to countdown to the New Year or even consider having a large screen TV so that you and your guests can all watch the ball drop from New York City.
Small personalized bottles of champagne or maybe cd’s with all the years greatest hits make for some really cute party favors for your guests.
These are just a few tips for planning a successful New Year’s Eve Wedding. There is nothing more special than celebrating your new beginning along with the start of a new year!
