Warm and Rich Harvest Wedding Flowers

Fall weddings around Thanksgiving time can feature rustic, warm toned colors. Think deep reds, golds, and oranges. Ivory also pairs well with these colors for a more “bridal feel” and to present a bit of contrast. Hypericum berry, available all year and in shades of burgundy and red, can add texture and variance. Similarly, small delicate freesia in shades of orange also get the job done.

When I think of such rich hued flowers, I immediately picture roses, calla lilies, and cymbidium orchids. I love the burgundy cymbidium orchids and the flame-like orange ‘mango’ calla lilies, perfect for bouquets and especially boutonnieres.

A fall, harvest wedding is also a great time to use sunflowers. These beautiful, large-faced, happy flowers are very affordable. Here, because of their size, we used them decorating the wedding arch. In addition, seeded eucalyptus, orange dyed waxflower, curly willow, and large ruffly burgundy roses add to the fall flavor.
