Designer Profile: Punk Rock Bride

New York and LA are not the only places beautiful, couture gowns are made. Washington, DC is proud to call Punk Rock Bride its resident designer! Tucked away in Capitol Hill among artists’ studios, Stefanie, the designer behind Punk Rock Bride, designs a refreshingly modern and feminine collection manufactured in the Washington, DC metropolitan area.
Trained in apparel design at the Rhode Island School of Design, Stefanie is motivated by the idea of fashion as wearable art. After designing her best friend’s bridal gown, she was inspired to create a collection of bridal gowns with fresh, modern styling and layering of fabrics like charmeuse, chiffon, lace, and silk dupioni. Her first collection debuted in 2008, with gowns made of silk chiffon, charmeuse, cotton eyelet, and lace, and, for 2009, Punk Rock Bride’s collection is filled with feminine, edgy gowns softened by layers of lace and chiffon.
