Winter colors – I would stay away from the traditional colors of green and red.  Play up winter white, sky blue or deep purple.  Look for sale items in the seasonal section of local stores such as candles, crystals, ornaments or napkin rings that are cost effective and colorful.

Venues – Depending on your climate don’t rule out an outdoor ceremony or reception.  Find a venue that is easily accessible for guests in case of inclement weather.

Décor – Take advantage of the holiday décor provided by your venue, this will save you lots of money.  Find a great florist, stylist or event specialist to help you incorporate your style into the existing holiday décor.

Winter wedding foods – Think about using foods that provide warmth and comfort.  Items that provide vibrate colors and a bit of whimsy.  My favorites include some of the mini standards – smores, mac & cheese, hot toddies and tomato soup.

Songs – Why not try a dueling Christmas caroling table serenade.  Print out the words to your favorite Christmas song and get your guests involved in the merriment.
