The next few weeks will be exciting one’s on WeddingAces! We have many new bloggers starting, in a variety of new categories! The first new blogger(s) I am introducing is The Feds.

The Feds are a husband and wife photography team out of Boston, Massachusetts. Together, they have created a successful wedding photography business, all while raising their 3 daughters. They will be a wonderful asset to the WeddingAces team, and we look forward to seeing their amazing work.

Wedding Aces: What is the name of your business?

The Feds: The Feds Studio (James and Kate Federico, hence The Feds)

TF: 5 years ago we jumped in after our own wedding.

TF: I (James) studied Black and White photography at a Vocational High School but could not continue education in the field. I went on to study Electrical and Computer Engineering in College for the next 5 years yet still had the love of photography in my heart and digital was emerging.   Kate’s love for photography started as a kid in the modeling industry, she loves the fashion aspect of weddings. Kate has also been subjected to my never ending conversation about photography since we started dating back in High School.

TF: As crazy as it might sound, enjoy the planning process. We know at times things get a little stressful during the planning of your wedding(it did for us) but today there is so many amazing wedding resources and communities online. If Bride or Groom needs help, they can ask a question in a forum or on a blog and get answers from total strangers who only want to help in planning an amazing wedding. Use those resources and make friends in those communities.

Book the vendors you love early. Great venues book up fast, Popular Photographers, Videographers and Bands book up fast. We really hate sending the “Sorry we are not available email” to couples and try as hard as we can to find a photographer that is available on their date, but I is not easy if the couple waited too long.

TF: First Looks are the best(at least from a photographer’s stand point). We LOVE the images and moments we capture during this meeting of the Bride and Groom pre-ceremony. They laugh, cry, tell each other how good the other looks, model their attire, everything about the First
Look we love. We will post about the First Looks very soon.

TF: We are going to have to think about that one. We did have the Mother of the Bride ask us to steam a dress before, not sure if that would be considered unique for a wedding photographer

TF: With our Family and Friends. We have 3 little girls, 5yrs, 3yrs and only a few weeks old.  We love spending time at the beach in the summer and in the mountains in the winter. We take family walks at the dog park with our Mini Ausy. And hope to have a Sail Boat we can all hang on very soon.

TF: We really love sharing and helping people. We feel so much in the industry can be overwhelming to the couple and we want them to have an amazing wedding.
